विधमिष्यन्ति गात्राणि तूलराशिमिवानलः ।
तीक्ष्णसायकनिर्भिन्नान् शूलशक्त्यष्टितोमरैः ॥६-८८-८॥
vidhamiṣyanti gātrāṇi tūlarāśimivānalaḥ |
tīkṣṇasāyakanirbhinnān śūlaśaktyaṣṭitomaraiḥ ॥6-88-8॥
Translation
My arrows will consume your bodies, pierced by pikes, spears, swords, and lances, just as fire consumes a heap of cotton.
हिंदी अनुवाद
शूल, शक्ति, ऋष्टि और तोमर आदि तीखे बाणों से बिंधे हुए तुम्हारे शरीरों को (मेरे बाण) वैसे ही जला देंगे जैसे आग रूई के ढेर को जला देती है।
English Commentary
The metaphor of 'cotton and fire' illustrates the fragility of the monkey army against Indrajit's destructive power. Indrajit mentions various weapons (Shula, Shakti, Tomara), indicating the diversity of his arsenal. His goal is to instill the fear of death in the enemy's mind.

यहाँ 'रूई और आग' की उपमा वानर सेना की नश्वरता और इन्द्रजीत की संहारक शक्ति को दर्शाती है। इन्द्रजीत विभिन्न प्रकार के अस्त्रों (शूल, शक्ति, तोमर) का उल्लेख करता है, जो उसके शस्त्रागार की विविधता को बताता है। उसका उद्देश्य शत्रु के मन में मृत्यु का भय उत्पन्न करना है।
