प्रहस्तो निहतो वीरो निकुम्भश्च महाबलः ।
कुम्भकर्णश्च कुम्भश्च धूम्राक्षश्च निशाचरः ॥६-९०-१०॥
prahasto nihato vīro nikumbhaśca mahābalaḥ |
kumbhakarṇaśca kumbhaśca dhūmrākṣaśca niśācaraḥ ॥6-90-10॥
Translation
The heroic Prahasta has been slain, as have the mighty Nikumbha, Kumbhakarna, Kumbha, and the night-stalker Dhumraksha.

वीर प्रहस्त मारा गया, महाबली निकुम्भ, कुम्भकर्ण, कुम्भ और निशाचर धूम्राक्ष भी संहार को प्राप्त हुए हैं।
English Commentary
Shri Vibhishana presents a list of the great Rakshasas who have been slain so far. This enumeration serves to remind the Vanaras of their own successes. These were the pillars of Lanka considered invincible. Their end proves that no demonic force can endure before the power of Shri Rama. This historical context works to completely uproot the fear of the enemy from the Vanaras' minds.

विभीषण जी यहाँ अब तक मारे गए महान राक्षसों की सूची प्रस्तुत कर रहे हैं। यह गणना वानरों को उनकी सफलताओं का स्मरण कराने के लिए है। लंका के ये वे स्तंभ थे जिन्हें अजेय माना जाता था। इन सबका अंत यह सिद्ध करता है कि श्री राम की शक्ति के सामने कोई भी आसुरी बल स्थायी नहीं है। यह ऐतिहासिक संदर्भ वानरों के मन से शत्रु के भय को जड़ से मिटाने का कार्य करता है।
