Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
एतान्निहत्यातिबलान् बहून् राक्षससत्तमान् ।
बाहुभ्यां सागरं तीर्त्वा लङ्घ्यतां गोष्पदं लघु ॥६-९०-१५॥
etānnihatyātibalān bahūn rākṣasasattamān |
bāhubhyāṃ sāgaraṃ tīrtvā laṅghyatāṃ goṣpadaṃ laghu ॥6-90-15॥
Translation
Having slain these many exceedingly powerful and foremost Rakshasas, you have crossed the ocean by the strength of your arms; now this remaining battle is as small and easy as a cow's hoof-print (Goshpada).
हिंदी अनुवाद
इन बहुत से अत्यंत बलवान श्रेष्ठ राक्षसों को मारकर, आप लोगों ने अपनी भुजाओं के बल से समुद्र को पार कर लिया है, अब यह युद्ध तो गाय के खुर के गड्ढे (गोष्पद) के समान छोटा और सुगम रह गया है।
English Commentary
Shri Vibhishana employs a very effective metaphor here. Crossing the ocean was the greatest obstacle, which the Vanaras have already overcome. The remaining battle is now as insignificant as a 'Goshpada' (a cow's hoof-print). This is the height of morale-boosting. He explains to them that since they have scaled the Himalayas, this small hillock should be of no concern.

विभीषण जी यहाँ एक अत्यंत प्रभावी उपमा का प्रयोग कर रहे हैं। समुद्र को पार करना सबसे बड़ा अवरोध था, जिसे वानरों ने पार कर लिया। अब जो युद्ध बचा है, वह 'गोष्पद' (गाय के खुर का निशान) के समान तुच्छ है। यह वानरों के आत्मविश्वास को बढ़ाने की पराकाष्ठा है। वे उन्हें समझा रहे हैं कि जब आपने हिमालय लांघ लिया है, तो यह छोटी सी पहाड़ी क्या चीज़ है।
