Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
मुमुचुर्विविधान्नादान् मेघान् दृष्ट्वेव बर्हिणः ।
जाम्बवानपि तैः सर्वैः स्वयूथैरपि संवृतः ॥६-९०-२१॥
mumu curvividhānnādān meghān dṛṣṭveva barhiṇaḥ |
jāmbavānapi taiḥ sarvaiḥ svayūthairapi saṃvṛtaḥ ॥6-90-21॥
Translation
Like peacocks crying out upon seeing clouds, the monkeys uttered various sounds. Jambavan too arrived there, surrounded by his entire troop.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जैसे बादलों को देखकर मोर शोर मचाते हैं, वैसे ही वे वानर अनेक प्रकार की ध्वनियाँ करने लगे। जाम्बवान भी अपनी पूरी सेना के साथ वहाँ पहुँच गए।
English Commentary
A very beautiful analogy is used here. The gravity of the battle is compared to clouds ('Megha'), and the Vanaras to peacocks ('Barhinah'). Just as peacocks rejoice at the sight of clouds, the monkeys were excited at the prospect of battle. The arrival of Jambavan, the King of the bears, brought an infusion of additional strength and wisdom to the army.

यहाँ एक अत्यंत सुंदर उपमा का प्रयोग किया गया है। बादलों (मेघ) की तुलना युद्ध की गम्भीरता से और वानरों की तुलना मोरों (बर्हिणः) से की गई है। मोर बादलों को देखकर आनंदित होते हैं, वैसे ही वानर युद्ध के अवसर को देखकर उत्साहित थे। ऋक्षराज जाम्बवान का आगमन वानर सेना के लिए अतिरिक्त शक्ति और विवेक का समावेश था।
