अश्मभिस्ताडयामास नखैर्दन्तैश्च राक्षसान् ।
निघ्नन्तमृक्षाधिपतिं राक्षसास्ते महाबलाः ॥६-९०-२२॥

English Commentary
Jambavan's combat style is natural and fierce, much like that of the Vanaras. The use of stones and bodily limbs ('Nakha-Danta') reflects his ancient martial heritage. Despite his age, his strength was like Death for the Rakshasas. The demons recognized him as a major threat and began planning to surround him.

जाम्बवान जी की युद्ध पद्धति वानरों के समान ही नैसर्गिक और प्रचंड है। पत्थरों (अश्म) और शारीरिक अंगों (नख-दन्त) का प्रयोग उनकी प्राचीन युद्ध कला को दर्शाता है। यद्यपि वे वृद्ध थे, किन्तु उनका बल राक्षसों के लिए काल के समान था। राक्षसों ने उन्हें एक बड़े खतरे के रूप में पहचान लिया और उन्हें घेरने की योजना बनाने लगे।
