जाम्बवन्तं मृधे जघ्नुर्निघ्नन्तं राक्षसीं चमूम् ।
स सम्प्रहारस्तुमुलः सञ्जज्ञे कपिरक्षसाम् ॥६-९०-२४॥
jāmbavantaṃ mṛdhe jaghnurnighnantaṃ rākṣasīṃ camūm |
sa samprahārastumulaḥ sañjajñe kapirakṣasām ॥6-90-24॥
Translation
They struck Jambavan in the battle as he was slaughtering the Rakshasa army. Then, that exceedingly tumultuous and fierce clash between the monkeys and Rakshasas took place.
हिंदी अनुवाद
राक्षस सेना का संहार कर रहे जाम्बवान पर उन्होंने युद्ध में प्रहार किया। तब वानरों और राक्षसों के बीच वह अत्यंत तुमुल और भयंकर संघर्ष हुआ।
English Commentary
This verse portrays collective carnage. The word 'Tumulam' (tumultuous) signifies the chaos and uproar where only the sounds of strikes resonated. Jambavan's prowess was proving overwhelming for the Rakshasas, and in response, the demons were exerting their full strength. This is a phase of the battle where neither side was willing to retreat.

यह श्लोक सामूहिक संहार का चित्रण है। 'तुमुलम्' शब्द उस कोलाहल और अराजकता को दर्शाता है जहाँ केवल प्रहारों की ध्वनियाँ गूँज रही थीं। जाम्बवान जी का पराक्रम राक्षसों के लिए भारी पड़ रहा था, और इसके उत्तर में राक्षस भी अपनी पूरी शक्ति झोंक रहे थे। यह युद्ध का वह चरण है जहाँ कोई भी पक्ष पीछे हटने को तैयार नहीं था।
