ततो विस्फारयामास महद्धनुरवस्थितः ।
उत्ससर्ज च तीक्ष्णाग्रान् राक्षसेषु महाशरान् ॥६-९०-३॥
tato viṣphārayāmāsa mahaddhanuravasthitaḥ |
utsasarga ca tīkṣṇāgrān rākṣaseṣu mahāśarān ॥6-90-3॥
Translation
Then, standing firm, Vibhishana twanged his great bow and began discharging mighty arrows with sharp points at the Rakshasas.

तब विभीषण ने वहाँ स्थिर होकर अपने विशाल धनुष की टंकार की और राक्षसों पर तीखे अग्रभाग वाले महान बाण छोड़ने आरम्भ किए।
English Commentary
Shri Vibhishana does not limit himself to advice but actively participates in the combat. Twanging his 'Mahaddhanuh' (great bow) signifies his martial brilliance. He is holding off the rest of the Rakshasa army to ensure that the duel between Shri Lakshmana and Indrajit remains uninterrupted, showcasing his courage and strategic acumen.

विभीषण जी केवल मन्त्रणा तक सीमित नहीं रहे, बल्कि सक्रिय युद्ध में भी सम्मिलित हुए। 'महद्धनुः' (विशाल धनुष) का विस्फारण उनके क्षत्रिय तेज का सूचक है। वे यहाँ अन्य राक्षसी सेना को रोक रहे हैं ताकि श्री लक्ष्मण जी और इन्द्रजित के द्वंद्व में कोई बाधा न आए। यह उनके साहस और सामरिक सूझबूझ का परिचय देता है।
