न मुष्टिप्रतिसन्धानं न लक्ष्यप्रतिपादनम् ।
अदृश्यत तयोस्तत्र युध्यतोः पाणिलाघवात् ॥६-९०-३१॥
na muṣṭipratisandhānaṃ na lakṣyapratipādanam |
adṛśyata tayostatra yudhyatōḥ pāṇilāghavāt ॥6-90-31॥
Translation
Due to the swiftness of their hands, neither the clenching of their fists (on the bow) nor the hitting of the targets was visible while they fought.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हाथों की फुर्ती के कारण, युद्ध करते हुए उन दोनों की मुट्ठी का संधान और बाणों का निशाने पर लगना भी दिखाई नहीं दे रहा था।
English Commentary
The dexterity and speed of the hands ('Panilaghavat') is the central theme here. The battle had transcended the limits of vision, becoming a matter of pure sound and impact. This verse proves that both warriors were among the finest archers in the cosmos. 'Mushtipratisandhanam' refers to the continuous and rapid flow of arrows.

हाथों की सफाई और गति (पाणिलाघवात्) यहाँ मुख्य विषय है। युद्ध अब दृष्टि की सीमा से बाहर होकर केवल 'ध्वनि' और 'प्रभाव' का विषय बन गया था। यह श्लोक यह सिद्ध करता है कि दोनों योद्धा ब्रह्मांड के श्रेष्ठतम धनुर्धरों में से थे। 'मुष्टि-प्रतिसन्धानम्' का अर्थ है बाणों का निरंतर और तीव्र प्रवाह।
