Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
ताभ्यामुभाभ्यां तरसा विसृष्टैर्विशिखैः शितैः ।
निरन्तरमिवाकाशं बभूव तमसावृतम् ॥६-९०-३४॥
tābhyāmubhābhyāṃ tarasā visṛṣṭairviśikhaiḥ śitaiḥ |
nirantaramivākāśaṃ babhūva tamasāvṛtam ॥6-90-34॥
Translation
By the sharp arrows released with force by both of them, the sky became enveloped in darkness, as if there were no gaps left in it.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उन दोनों द्वारा वेगपूर्वक छोड़े गए तीखे बाणों से आकाश बिना किसी छेद (छिद्र) के मानो अंधकार से घिर गया था।
English Commentary
The word 'Nirantaram' (without gap) suggests that there wasn't even space for air between the flying arrows. This is the zenith of archery where the weapons themselves become the environment. Darkness ('Tamasavritam') here is not a symbol of ignorance but of the absolute density of the missiles. This scene takes the concentration of the battle to its limit.

'निरन्तरम्' (बिना अंतराल के) शब्द यह बताता है कि बाणों के बीच वायु के निकलने की भी जगह नहीं थी। यह धनुर्विद्या की वह पराकाष्ठा है जहाँ शस्त्र ही वातावरण का हिस्सा बन जाते हैं। अंधकार (तमसावृतम्) यहाँ अज्ञान का नहीं, बल्कि शस्त्रों की प्रचुरता का प्रतीक है। यह दृश्य युद्ध की सघनता को चरम पर ले जाता है।
