रुधिरौघमहानद्यः प्रावर्तन्त सहस्रशः ।
क्रव्यादा दारुणा वाग्भिश्चिक्षिपुर्भीमनिस्वनम् ॥६-९०-३७॥
rudhiraughamahānadyaḥ prāvartanta sahasraśaḥ |
kravyādā dāruṇā vāgbhiścikṣipur bhīmanisvanam ॥6-90-37॥
Translation
Great rivers of blood began to flow in thousands. Fearsome meat-eating creatures uttered terrifying sounds.

हजारों की संख्या में रक्त की बड़ी-बड़ी नदियाँ बहने लगीं। भयंकर मांसभक्षी जीव डरावनी ध्वनियाँ निकालने लगे।
English Commentary
Along with the darkness, the 'Vibhatsa Rasa' (ghastly sentiment) is now introduced. Rivers of blood ('Rudhiraugha-mahanadyah') bear witness to the magnitude of the slaughter. The arrival of 'Kravyada' (flesh-eaters like vultures and jackals) confirms the pervasive presence of death. This verse portrays the cruel reality of war, where the cessation of life coincides with the rise of nature's predatory forces.

अंधकार के साथ अब वीभत्स रस का समावेश हो गया है। रक्त की नदियाँ (रुधिरौघ-महानद्यः) संहार की प्रचंडता की गवाही दे रही थीं। 'व्रुव्यादाः' (मांसभक्षी जीव जैसे गीध, सियार) का आगमन मृत्यु की उपस्थिति को पुष्ट करता है। यह श्लोक युद्ध के उस क्रूर यथार्थ को चित्रित करता है जहाँ जीवन का अंत और प्रकृति की हिंसक शक्तियों का उदय एक साथ होता है।
