सम्पूर्णायतमुक्तेन सुपत्रेण सुवर्चसा ।
महेन्द्राशनिकल्पेन सुतस्य विचरिष्यतः ॥६-९०-४१॥
sampūrṇāyatamuktena supatreṇa suvarcasā |
mahendrāśanikalpena sūtasya vicariṣyataḥ ॥6-90-41॥
Translation
With a beautiful-feathered, highly radiant arrow, equal to Indra's thunderbolt and released after drawing the bow to its full extent, of that moving charioteer—

English Commentary
The ferocity of the strike is made clear by 'Sampurnayata' (drawing the bow to its maximum). Comparing the arrow to Indra's thunderbolt ('Mahendrashani') signifies its infallibility. The charioteer is the operator of the battle, and Shri Lakshmana knew that without him, Indrajit's chariot would become aimless. This was a sophisticated tactical maneuver.
हिंदी टीका
प्रहार की प्रचंडता 'सम्पूर्णायत' (पूरी तरह खींचे हुए धनुष) से स्पष्ट होती है। बाण की तुलना इन्द्र के वज्र (महेन्द्राशनि) से करना उसके अमोघ होने का प्रतीक है। सारथी युद्ध का चालक होता है, और श्री लक्ष्मण जी जानते थे कि सारथी के बिना इन्द्रजित का रथ दिशाहीन हो जाएगा। यह एक अत्यंत सूक्ष्म सामरिक प्रहार था।
