स यन्तरि महातेजा हते मन्दोदरीसुतः ।
स्वयं सारथ्यमकरोत् पुनश्च धनुरस्पृशत् ॥६-९०-४३॥
sa yantari mahātejā hate mandodarīsutaḥ |
svayaṃ sārathyamakarot punaśca dhanuraspṛśat ॥6-90-43॥
Translation
Upon the charioteer being killed, the highly radiant son of Mandodari (Indrajit) performed the charioteering himself and again took up his bow.
हिंदी अनुवाद
सारथी के मारे जाने पर, मन्दोदरी के महातेजस्वी पुत्र (इन्द्रजित) ने स्वयं ही सारथी का कार्य किया और पुनः धनुष को थाम लिया।
English Commentary
Indrajit's versatile talent is displayed here. He was not just a warrior but also an expert in driving a chariot. Performing the 'charioteering himself' reflects his indomitable courage and his relentless commitment to the war. Instead of conceding, he attempted to fight with redoubled energy. Calling him the 'son of Mandodari' recalls his high demonic lineage.

इन्द्रजित की बहुमुखी प्रतिभा यहाँ दिखाई देती है। वह केवल एक योद्धा ही नहीं, बल्कि रथ संचालन में भी दक्ष था। 'स्वयं सारथ्यम्' करना उसके अदम्य साहस और युद्ध के प्रति उसके अटूट संकल्प को दर्शाता है। वह हार मानने के स्थान पर दुगनी ऊर्जा के साथ लड़ने का प्रयास कर रहा था। 'मन्दोदरी-सुतः' कहना उसके उच्च राक्षसी कुल की याद दिलाता है।
