एको ऽयं राक्षसेन्द्रस्य परायणमिव स्थितः ।
एतच्छेषं बलं तस्य किं तिष्ठत हरीश्वराः ॥६-९०-८॥
eko 'yaṃ rākṣasendrasya parāyaṇaṃmiva sthitaḥ |
etaccheṣaṃ balaṃ tasya kiṃ tiṣṭhata harīśvarāḥ ॥6-90-8॥
Translation
This one (Indrajit) alone stands as the last resort of the Rakshasa king. This is the only remaining strength of his army; so, O monkey leaders, why do you stand still?
हिंदी अनुवाद
राक्षसराज रावण का यह अकेला (इन्द्रजित) ही अंतिम आश्रय बचा है। उसकी सेना का यही भाग शेष है, तो हे वानर श्रेष्ठों! आप अब क्यों रुके हुए हैं?
English Commentary
Shri Vibhishana provides the Vanaras with a reality check. He identifies Indrajit as Ravana's 'Parayanam' (last resort). He argues that if he is defeated, the victory over Lanka is certain. The question 'Why do you stand still?' is intended to eliminate any hesitation or fatigue within the Vanaras and incite a swift assault. It is a masterfully crafted battle cry.

विभीषण जी यहाँ वानरों को वास्तविकता का बोध करा रहे हैं। वे इन्द्रजित को रावण का 'परायणम्' (अंतिम आधार) बताते हैं। उनका तर्क है कि यदि इसे परास्त कर दिया गया, तो लंका की विजय निश्चित है। 'किं तिष्ठत' (क्यों खड़े हो?) यह प्रश्न वानरों के भीतर के आलस्य या संकोच को समाप्त कर उन्हें तीव्र आक्रमण के लिए उकसाने वाला है। यह एक कुशल युद्ध-घोष है।
