विव्याधोरसि सौमित्री रावणिं पञ्चभिः शरैः ।
ते तस्य कायं निर्भिद्य महाकार्मुकनिस्सृताः ॥६-९१-२०॥
vivyādhorasi saumitrī rāvaṇiṃ pañcabhiḥ śaraīḥ |
te tasya kāyaṃ nirbhidya mahākārmukanissṛtāḥ ॥6-91-20॥

Lakshmana, the son of Sumitra, pierced Indrajit on the chest with five arrows. Released from His great bow, those shafts, having pierced through his body—

English Commentary
Lakshmana strikes directly at a vital point—the chest ('Urasi'). Discharging 'five arrows' could symbolize the destructive power of the five elements. The arrows piercing through ('Nirbhidya') the body testifies to their immense velocity and Lakshmana's physical strength. For the first time, Indrajit experienced true physical agony, shattering his delusion of invincibility.

लक्ष्मण जी ने अब सीधे मर्म स्थल—वक्ष (छाती)—पर प्रहार किया। 'पाँच बाणों' का संधान पंच-तत्वों की संहारक शक्ति का प्रतीक हो सकता है। बाणों का शरीर को 'निर्भिद्य' (भेदकर) निकल जाना उनके असीम वेग और लक्ष्मण जी के बाहुबल को सिद्ध करता है। इन्द्रजित को यहाँ प्रथम बार वास्तविक शारीरिक पीड़ा का अनुभव हुआ, जो उसके अजेय होने के भ्रम को तोड़ने वाला था।
