विलयं जग्मुराहत्य कवचं काञ्चनप्रभम् ।
अभेद्यकवचं मत्वा लक्ष्मणं रावणात्मजः ॥६-९१-३३॥
vilayaṃ jagmurāhatya kavacaṃ kāñcanaprabham |
abhedyakavacaṃ matvā lakṣmaṇaṃ rāvaṇātmajaḥ ॥6-91-33॥
Translation
Those arrows, striking Lakshmana's gold-shining armor, were neutralized (destroyed). Realizing Lakshmana's armor to be impenetrable, the son of Ravana—

वे बाण सुवर्ण की कांति वाले लक्ष्मण के कवच से टकराकर नष्ट हो गए। लक्ष्मण के कवच को अभेद्य मानकर रावण पुत्र (इन्द्रजित)—
English Commentary
The glory of Shri Lakshmana's 'divine armor' is revealed here. Even Indrajit's most lethal arrows could not pierce it and were 'neutralized.' This symbolizes the protective power of Truth. For Indrajit, it was a source of wonder and fear that none of his weapons were effective. He then decided to target specific, unprotected parts of the body.

यहाँ श्री लक्ष्मण जी के 'दिव्य कवच' की महिमा प्रकट हुई है। इन्द्रजित के सबसे घातक बाण भी उस कवच को नहीं भेद सके और 'विलयम्' (नष्ट) हो गए। यह सत्य की रक्षात्मक शक्ति का प्रतीक है। इन्द्रजित के लिए यह विस्मय और भय का विषय था कि उसका कोई भी अस्त्र काम नहीं कर रहा था। अब उसने अंग-विशेष को लक्ष्य बनाने का निश्चय किया।
