ललाटे लक्ष्मणं बाणैः सुपुङ्खैस्त्रिभिरिन्द्रजित् ।
अविध्यत् परमक्रुद्धः शीघ्रास्त्रं च प्रदर्शयन् ॥६-९१-३४॥
lalāṭe lakṣmaṇaṃ bāṇaiḥ supuṅkhaistribhiri ndrajit |
avidhyat parama krūddhaḥ śīghrāstraṃ ca pradarśayan ॥6-91-34॥
Translation
Becoming exceedingly enraged and displaying His mastery of 'swift missiles,' Indrajit struck Lakshmana on the forehead with three well-feathered arrows.

अत्यंत क्रोधित होकर और अपनी 'शीघ्र-अस्त्र' विद्या का प्रदर्शन करते हुए, इन्द्रजित ने सुंदर पंखों वाले तीन बाणों से लक्ष्मण के ललाट (माथे) पर प्रहार किया।
English Commentary
Indrajit targeted Lakshmana's vital spot—the forehead—where armor typically does not provide coverage. The strike of 'three arrows' was a confluence of his focus and desperation. He intended to terminate Lakshmana's consciousness with a single volley. This reflects the stage of battle where the enemy concentrates all his cunning on a singular point.

इन्द्रजित ने लक्ष्मण जी के मर्म स्थल 'ललाट' को निशाना बनाया, जहाँ कवच का संरक्षण नहीं होता। 'तीन बाणों' का प्रहार उसकी एकाग्रता और हताशा का संगम था। वह चाहता था कि एक ही वार से लक्ष्मण जी की चेतना समाप्त कर दे। यह युद्ध का वह क्षण है जहाँ शत्रु अपनी सारी चालाकी एक बिंदु पर केंद्रित कर देता है।
