अन्योन्यं जघ्नतुर्बाणैर्विशिखैर्भीमविक्रमौ ।
ततः शोणितदिग्धाङ्गौ लक्ष्मणेन्द्रजितावुभौ ॥६-९१-३८॥
anyonyaṃ jaghnaturbāṇairviśikhairbhīmavikramau |
tataḥ śoṇitadigdhāṅgau lakṣmaṇendrajitāvubhaū ॥6-91-38॥
Translation
Those two of fearsome prowess struck each other with pointed arrows. Consequently, both Lakshmana and Indrajit had their limbs smeared with blood.
हिंदी अनुवाद
भयंकर पराक्रम वाले वे दोनों एक-दूसरे को तीखे बाणों से मारने लगे। तब वे दोनों— लक्ष्मण और इन्द्रजित— रक्त से लथपथ अंगों वाले हो गए।
English Commentary
The battle has reached its most gruesome stage of bloodshed. The term 'Shonita-digdhangau' (limbs smeared with blood) indicates that both warriors had sustained severe wounds. The duel had shifted from a contest of technique to one of endurance. This scene proves that for great objectives, even the greatest heroes must shed their blood.

युद्ध अब अपने सबसे भीषण रक्तपात वाले चरण में पहुँच चुका है। 'शोणित-दिग्धाङ्गौ' (रक्त से सने शरीर) शब्द यह बताते हैं कि दोनों ही योद्धाओं ने गम्भीर चोटें खाई थीं। यह द्वंद्व अब केवल तकनीक का नहीं बल्कि सहनशक्ति (Endurance) का बन गया था। यह दृश्य सिद्ध करता है कि महान लक्ष्यों के लिए वीरों को अपना रक्त बहाना पड़ता है।
