चिच्छेद निशितैर्बाणैर्दशधा सा ऽपतद्भुवि ।
तस्मै दृढधनुः क्रुद्धो हताश्वाय विभीषणः ॥६-९१-४५॥
ciccheda niśitaīrbāṇairdaśadhā sā 'patad bhūvi |
tasmai dṛḍhadhanuḥ krūddho hatāśvāya vibhīṣaṇaḥ ॥6-91-45॥
Translation
Lakshmana shattered that Shakti missile into ten pieces with His sharp arrows, and it fell to the ground. Then, the enraged Vibhishana, possessing a firm bow, (struck) at the chariotless Indrajit—

लक्ष्मण ने अपने तीखे बाणों से उस शक्ति के दस टुकड़े कर दिए और वह भूमि पर गिर पड़ी। तब सुदृढ़ धनुष वाले क्रोधित विभीषण ने घोड़ों से रहित उस इन्द्रजित पर—
English Commentary
Shri Lakshmana's unerring aim shattered Indrajit's missile into 'ten pieces,' testifying to His superior martial skill. Shri Vibhishana remains active; the term 'Dridhadhanuh' (firm-bowed) signifies his mental and tactical stability. He intended to grant Indrajit no opportunity to recover.

श्री लक्ष्मण जी की अचूक निशानेबाजी ने इन्द्रजित के अस्त्र को 'दशधा' (दस टुकड़ों में) विभाजित कर दिया। यह उनकी अस्त्र-विद्या की श्रेष्ठता का प्रमाण है। विभीषण जी अब पुनः सक्रिय हैं। 'दृढ़धनुः' शब्द उनकी मानसिक और सामरिक स्थिरता को दर्शाता है। वे अब इन्द्रजित को संभलने का कोई मौका नहीं देना चाहते थे।
