बभूवुर्लोहितादिग्धा रक्ता इव महोरगाः ।
स पितृव्याय सङ्क्रुद्ध इन्द्रजिच्छरमाददे ॥६-९१-४७॥
babhūvurlōhitādigdhā raktā iva mahōragāḥ |
sa pitṛvyāya saṅkrūddha indrajiccharamādadē ॥6-91-47॥
Translation
Stained with blood, those arrows looked like crimson serpents. Then Indrajit, exceedingly enraged at his uncle, took up an arrow.
हिंदी अनुवाद
रक्त से सने हुए वे बाण लाल सर्पों (महोरग) के समान लग रहे थे। तब अपने चाचा पर अत्यंत क्रोधित होकर इन्द्रजित ने एक बाण निकाला।
English Commentary
Comparing blood-stained arrows to 'Mahoraga' (great serpents) brings the grimness of battle to life. Indrajit's rage toward his uncle ('Pitrivyaya') reflects a familial hatred that had reached its breaking point. He was now poised to discharge a shaft that could threaten Vibhishana's life, marking the pinnacle of retribution.

रक्त रंजित बाणों की तुलना 'महोरग' से करना युद्ध की वीभत्सता को सजीव करता है। इन्द्रजित का 'पितृव्याय सङ्क्रुद्धः' (चाचा पर क्रोधित) होना उसके उस पारिवारिक विद्वेष को दर्शाता है जो अब अपनी अंतिम सीमा पर था। वह अब एक ऐसा बाण चलाने वाला था जो विभीषण जी के प्राणों के लिए संकट बन सकता था। यह प्रतिशोध की पराकाष्ठा है।
