उत्तमं रक्षसां मध्ये यमदत्तं महाबलः ।
तं समीक्ष्य महातेजा महेषुं तेन संहितम् ॥६-९१-४८॥
uttamaṃ rakṣasāṃ madhye yamadattaṃ mahābalaḥ |
taṃ samīkṣya mahātējā maheṣuṃ tena saṃhitam ॥6-91-48॥
Translation
Among the Rakshasas, the mighty Indrajit fixed upon his bow that excellent arrow given by Yama. Seeing that great missile aimed by that highly radiant demon—

राक्षसों के बीच महाबली इन्द्रजित ने यमराज द्वारा दिए गए उस श्रेष्ठ बाण को धनुष पर चढ़ाया। उस महातेजस्वी राक्षस द्वारा संधान किए गए उस महान बाण को देखकर—
English Commentary
Indrajit now deploys the 'Yamadattam' missile, gifted by the God of Death. This was the most terrifying shaft in his quiver. A weapon from Yama is a direct invitation to death. Indrajit was exhibiting his final and most destructive power. The aiming ('Samhitam') of this arrow was destined to strike a haunting silence across the battlefield.

इन्द्रजित ने अब 'यमदत्तम्' (यमराज द्वारा दिए गए) अस्त्र का प्रयोग किया। यह उसके तरकश का सबसे भयानक बाण था। यमराज का अस्त्र साक्षात् मृत्यु का निमंत्रण है। इन्द्रजित यहाँ अपनी अंतिम और सबसे विनाशकारी शक्ति का प्रदर्शन कर रहा था। इस बाण का संधान (संहितम्) रणभूमि में एक भयावह सन्नाटा पैदा करने वाला था।
