विकृष्यमाणौ वीराभ्यां भृशं जज्वलतुः श्रिया ।
तौ भासयन्तावाकाशं धनुर्भ्यां विशिखौ च्युतौ ॥६-९१-५२॥
vikṛṣyamāṇau vīrābhyāṃ bhṛṣaṃ jajvalatuḥ śriyā |
tau bhāsayantāvākāśaṃ dhanurbhyāṃ viśikhau cyutau ॥6-91-52॥
Translation
Being drawn by those two heroes, the arrows blazed intensely with splendor. Released from the bows, those two shafts illuminated the sky.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उन दोनों वीरों द्वारा खींचे जाने पर वे बाण अपनी शोभा (तेज) से अत्यंत प्रज्वलित हो उठे। वे दोनों बाण धनुष से छूटकर आकाश को प्रकाशित करने लगे।
English Commentary
The arrows 'blazing' ('Jajvalatuh') confirms they were consecrated with mantras. They were not mere metal but pillars of fire. The illumination of the sky ('Bhasayantau') shows that this duel was like a streak of light amidst the darkness. This scene portrays the fire of cosmic justice issuing forth to incinerate unrighteousness.

बाणों का 'जज्वलतुः' (जल उठना) उनके मन्त्र-सिद्ध होने का प्रमाण है। वे केवल लोहे के टुकड़े नहीं, बल्कि अग्निपुंज थे। आकाश का प्रकाशित होना (भासयन्तौ) यह दर्शाता है कि यह युद्ध अंधकार के बीच प्रकाश की एक लकीर के समान था। यह दृश्य ब्रह्मांडीय न्याय की उस अग्नि को चित्रित करता है जो अधर्म को भस्म करने के लिए निकली थी।
