सधूमविस्फुलिङ्गश्च तज्जो ऽग्निर्दारुणो ऽभवत् ।
तौ महाग्रहसङ्काशावन्योन्यं सन्निपत्य च ॥६-९१-५४॥
sadhūmavisphuliṅgaśca tajjō 'gnirdāruṇō 'bhavat |
taū mahāgrahasṅkāśā vanyōnyaṃ sannipatya ca ॥6-91-54॥
Translation
From that collision, a terrifying fire arose along with smoke and sparks. Those two arrows, resembling great planets, having clashed with each other—

English Commentary
The fire generated by the collision symbolizes the missile-power contained within the arrows. The analogy to 'great planets' grants this duel a celestial significance. It was not just a fight between two shafts but a cataclysmic scene akin to the collision of two stars. The smoke and sparks bring to life the horror of a war where even natural elements acted as participants.

बाणों के टकराने से 'अग्नि' का उत्पन्न होना उनके भीतर समाहित अस्त्र-शक्ति का प्रतीक है। ग्रहों (महाग्रह) की उपमा इस द्वंद्व को खगोलीय महत्व प्रदान करती है। यह केवल दो बाणों की लड़ाई नहीं थी, बल्कि दो नक्षत्रों के टकराने जैसा प्रलयंकारी दृश्य था। धुआँ और चिनगारियाँ युद्ध की उस विभीषिका को सजीव करती हैं जहाँ प्रकृति के तत्व भी योद्धाओं के सहायक बने हुए थे।
