Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
ततः क्रुद्धो महातेजा इन्द्रजित् समितिञ्जयः ।
आग्नेयं सन्दधे दीप्तं स लोकं सङ्क्षिपन्निव ॥६-९१-५८॥
tataḥ kruddhō mahātējā indrajit samitiñjayaḥ |
āgnēyaṃ sandadhē dīptaṃ sa lōkaṃ saṅkṣipanniva ॥6-91-58॥
Translation
Then the highly radiant Indrajit, the victor of battles, filled with rage, fixed the blazing 'Agneya' (Fire) missile, which appeared as if it would consume the entire world.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब युद्धों को जीतने वाले महातेजस्वी इन्द्रजित ने क्रोधित होकर प्रज्वलित 'आग्नेय अस्त्र' चढ़ाया, जो मानो लोकों का संहार करने वाला था।
English Commentary
Indrajit is now at the peak of his destructive nature. Deploying the 'Agneya' missile was a threat to the entire creation. The phrase 'Lokam Sankshipan' (shrinking/destroying the world) highlights its cataclysmic potential. He intended not just to defeat Lakshmana but to incinerate the entire battlefield. This represents unrighteousness resorting to total destruction when faced with imminent defeat.

इन्द्रजित अब अपने विनाशकारी स्वभाव के चरम पर है। 'आग्नेय अस्त्र' का प्रयोग सम्पूर्ण सृष्टि के लिए संकट था। 'लोकं सङ्क्षिपन्' (लोकों को समेटने या नष्ट करने वाला) शब्द इसकी प्रलयंकारी क्षमता को दर्शाते हैं। वह अब केवल लक्ष्मण जी को ही नहीं, बल्कि सम्पूर्ण रणभूमि को भस्म कर देना चाहता था। यह अधर्म का वह रूप है जो पराजय के निकट होने पर सर्वनाश की ओर बढ़ता है।
