सौरेणास्त्रेण तद्वीरो लक्ष्मणः प्रत्यवारयत् ।
अस्त्रं निवारितं दृष्ट्वा रावणिः क्रोधमूर्च्छितः ॥६-९१-५९॥
saurēṇāstrēṇa tadvīrō lakṣmaṇaḥ pratyavārayat |
astraṃ nivāritaṃ dṛṣṭvā rāvaṇiḥ krōdhamūrcchitaḥ ॥6-91-59॥
Translation
The heroic Lakshmana checked that (Agneya missile) with the 'Saura' (Solar) missile. Seeing his missile neutralized, the son of Ravana became almost insane with rage.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वीर लक्ष्मण ने 'सौर अस्त्र' (सूर्य अस्त्र) के द्वारा उस (आग्नेय अस्त्र) को रोक दिया। अपने अस्त्र को विफल देख इन्द्रजित क्रोध से मूर्छित (पागल) सा हो गया।
English Commentary
Shri Lakshmana answered the fire with the radiance of the Sun ('Saura Astra'). Solar energy is capable of neutralizing or overshadowing any terrestrial or demonic fire. Indrajit's 'Murcha' (frenzy/insanity) shows that even his final stratagems were failing. He could no longer accept that a human was so effortlessly dismantling his demonic powers. This signaled a clear advantage for the side of Dharma.
हिंदी टीका
श्री लक्ष्मण जी ने अग्नि का उत्तर सूर्य के तेज (सौर अस्त्र) से दिया। सूर्य की किरणें किसी भी आग को शांत या ओझल करने में सक्षम हैं। इन्द्रजित की 'मूर्च्छा' (क्रोधोन्माद) यह दर्शाती है कि उसकी अंतिम चालें भी विफल हो रही थीं। वह अब यह स्वीकार नहीं कर पा रहा था कि एक मानव उसकी आसुरी शक्तियों को इतनी सहजता से काट रहा है। यह धर्म की स्पष्ट बढ़त का संकेत था।
