Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
ऋषयः पितरो देवा गन्धर्वा गरुडोरगाः ।
शतक्रतुं पुरस्कृत्य ररक्षुर्लक्ष्मणं रणे ॥६-९१-६५॥
ṛṣayaḥ pitarō dēvā gandharvā garuḍōragāḥ |
śatakratuṃ puraskṛtya rarakṣurlakṣmaṇaṃ raṇē ॥6-91-65॥
Translation
The Sages, Ancestors, Gods, Gandharvas, Garudas, and Nagas—all of them, placing Indra at their head, protected Lakshmana in the battle.
हिंदी अनुवाद
ऋषि, पितृगण, देवता, गन्धर्व, गरुड़ और नाग— इन सबने इन्द्र (शतव्रफतु) को आगे करके युद्ध में लक्ष्मण की रक्षा की।
English Commentary
This verse reaffirms Shri Lakshmana's spiritual supremacy. When Indra, the Sages, and the Ancestors themselves come for someone's protection, victory is guaranteed. Indra's leadership ('Shatakratum') indicates that the Gods had now decided to directly support Dharma. It was a collective divine shield formed around Lakshmana.

यह श्लोक श्री लक्ष्मण जी की धार्मिक श्रेष्ठता को पुष्ट करता है। जब साक्षात् इन्द्र, ऋषि और पितृगण किसी की रक्षा के लिए आ जाएं, तो उसकी विजय सुनिश्चित है। 'शतव्रफतु' (इन्द्र) का नेतृत्व यह दर्शाता है कि देवताओं ने अब प्रत्यक्ष रूप से धर्म का साथ देने का निर्णय लिया था। यह एक सामूहिक दैवीय कवच था जो लक्ष्मण जी के चारों ओर तन गया था।
