Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तथा तस्मिन्निपतिते राक्षसास्ते गता दिशः ।
शान्तरश्मिरिवादित्यो निर्वाण इव पावकः ॥६-९१-८६॥
tathā tasminnipatite rākṣasāste gatā diśaḥ |
śāntaraśmirivādityo nirvāṇa iva pāvakaḥ ॥6-91-86॥
Translation
When he fell, those Rakshasas fled in all directions. He (Indrajit) became like the sun with its rays cooled down, or like a fire that has been extinguished.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उसके (इंद्रजित के) गिरने पर वे राक्षस दिशाओं में भाग गए। (इंद्रजित) शांत किरणों वाले सूर्य के समान और बुझी हुई अग्नि के समान हो गया था।
English Commentary
Indrajit, who was once like a blazing fire and the scorching sun, has now become 'nirvana' (extinguished). Terms like 'cooled rays' and 'extinguished fire' describe the end of his fierce nature and power. Death silences everyone, no matter how powerful. As he became silent, the fear and chaos he generated also subsided, and his followers scattered.
हिंदी टीका
इंद्रजित, जो कभी प्रचंड अग्नि और तपते सूर्य के समान था, अब 'निर्वाण' (बुझा हुआ) हो गया है। 'शांत रश्मि' और 'निर्वाण पावक' जैसे शब्द उसके उग्र स्वभाव और शक्ति के अंत को दर्शाते हैं। मृत्यु सबको शांत कर देती है, चाहे वह कितना भी शक्तिशाली क्यों न हो। उसके शांत होते ही, उसके द्वारा उत्पन्न किया गया भय और कोलाहल भी शांत हो गया, और उसके अनुयायी बिखर गए।
