स बभूव महातेजा व्यपास्तगतजीवितः ।
प्रशान्तपीडाबहुलो नष्टारिष्टः प्रतापवान् ॥६-९१-८७॥
sa babhūva mahātejā vyapāstagatajīvitaḥ |
praśāntapīḍābahulo naṣṭāriṣṭaḥ pratāpavān ॥6-91-87॥
Translation
That highly energetic and powerful one became bereft of life. With his death, many afflictions were calmed, and calamities were destroyed.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह महातेजस्वी और प्रतापी (इंद्रजित) जीवन से रहित हो गया। उसके मरने से बहुत सी पीड़ाएं शांत हो गईं और उपद्रव नष्ट हो गए।
English Commentary
Indrajit's personality was a paradox—he was 'mahateja' (greatly energetic) and 'pratapavan' (powerful), yet his power was used to create 'pida' (affliction) and 'arishta' (calalamity). With his end, the world was relieved of suffering. This verse clarifies that the value of power lies in its usage; if power is used for Adharma, its destruction is beneficial for the world.

इंद्रजित के व्यक्तित्व में विरोधाभास था—वह 'महातेजस्वी' और 'प्रतापी' था, किन्तु उसकी शक्ति का उपयोग 'पीडा' और 'अरिष्ट' (उपद्रव/अशुभ) उत्पन्न करने के लिए होता था। उसके अंत के साथ ही विश्व को पीड़ा से मुक्ति मिली। यह श्लोक स्पष्ट करता है कि शक्ति का मूल्य उसके उपयोग में है; यदि शक्ति अधर्म के लिए है, तो उसका नाश ही विश्व के लिए कल्याणकारी है।
