जगाम निहते तस्मिन् राक्षसे पापकर्मणि ।
आकाशे चापि देवानां शुश्रुवे दुन्दुभिस्वनः ॥६-९१-८९॥
jagāma nihate tasmin rākṣase pāpakarmaṇi |
ākāśe cāpi devānāṃ śuśruve dundubhisvanaḥ ॥6-91-89॥
Translation
When that sinful Rakshasa was killed, Indra departed (contented). The sound of the drums of the Devas was also heard in the sky.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस पापकर्मा राक्षस के मारे जाने पर इंद्र (संतुष्ट होकर) चले गए। आकाश में देवताओं की दुन्दुभियों की ध्वनि भी सुनाई दी।
English Commentary
Indrajit is referred to as 'papakarma' (of sinful deeds), characterizing his deceptive and cruel actions. The sounding of celestial drums after his death declares that this victory is endorsed by the heavens. Indra's departure suggests that his purpose (achieved through Lakshmana) is fulfilled, and he is now at peace.

इंद्रजित को 'पापकर्मा' कहा गया है, जो उसके मायावी और क्रूर कृत्यों का परिचायक है। उसकी मृत्यु के बाद आकाशीय दुन्दुभियों (नगाड़ों) का बजना यह घोषित करता है कि यह विजय देवताओं द्वारा अनुमोदित है। इंद्र का प्रस्थान यह सूचित करता है कि उनका कार्य (लक्ष्मण के माध्यम से) सिद्ध हो गया और वे अब निश्चिंत हैं।
