कृतं परमकल्याणं कर्म दुष्करकर्मणा ।
अद्य मन्ये हते पुत्रे रावणं निहतं युधि ॥६-९२-१३॥
kṛtaṃ paramakalyāṇaṃ karma duṣkarakarmaṇā |
adya manye hate putre rāvaṇaṃ nihataṃ yudhi ॥6-92-13॥
Translation
"You have performed a supremely auspicious deed through this difficult feat. With the son killed today, I consider Ravana himself slain in battle."
हिंदी अनुवाद
तुमने अत्यंत कठिन कार्य (इंद्रजीत वध) करके परम कल्याण किया है। आज उस पुत्र के मारे जाने पर मैं मानता हूँ कि युद्ध में रावण ही मारा गया।
English Commentary
Shri Rama reiterates the magnitude of the achievement. He acknowledges that the task was 'duṣkara' (hard to do/impossible for others). By equating the son's death to the father's death, Shri Rama provides strategic insight: Indrajit was the shield and sword of Ravana. Without him, Ravana is vulnerable and spiritually broken. This validation serves to assure Lakshmana that his pain has yielded the highest possible result.

श्रीश्री राम पुन: लक्ष्मण के कार्य की महत्ता को स्थापित करते हैं। इंद्रजीत का वध 'दुष्कर' (अत्यंत कठिन) था। श्रीश्री राम कहते हैं कि यह केवल एक योद्धा की मृत्यु नहीं, बल्कि 'परमकल्याण' है। रावण के मारे जाने की बात कहकर श्रीश्री राम यह स्पष्ट करते हैं कि इंद्रजीत रावण की शक्ति का मूल आधार था। पुत्र के बिना रावण अब शक्तिहीन है।
