निष्टनन्निव चागम्य राघवाय महात्मने ।
आचचक्षे तदा वीरो घोरमिन्द्रजितो वधम् ॥६-९२-५॥
niṣṭananniva cāgamya rāghavāya mahātmane |
ācacakṣe tadā vīro ghoramindrajito vadham ॥6-92-5॥
Translation
Breathing heavily (groaning in pain), the hero approached the high-souled Raghava and reported the terrible killing of Indrajit.

वीर लक्ष्मण ने (पीड़ा के कारण) कराहते हुए महात्मा राघव के पास आकर इंद्रजीत के घोर वध का समाचार सुनाया।
English Commentary
The realism of the epic is preserved here. Lakshmana is not superhuman in the sense of being immune to pain; he is 'niṣṭananniva' (groaning or breathing hard), which humanizes his sacrifice. He reports the 'ghoram' (terrible/formidable) death of Indrajit merely as a completed duty. The focus is on the completion of the task for 'Mahatma' Raghava. It shows Lakshmana's dedication: delivering the news of victory takes precedence over attending to his own suffering.

यहाँ लक्ष्मणजी की शारीरिक स्थिति का यथार्थ चित्रण है। 'निष्टनन्निव' (कराहते हुए या गहरी साँस लेते हुए) शब्द बताता है कि वे अपने घावों को छिपाने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं ताकि श्रीश्री राम अधिक चिंतित न हों। वे स्वयं अपनी प्रशंसा नहीं करते, बस तथ्यात्मक रूप से 'इंद्रजीत के वध' की सूचना देते हैं। 'महात्मने' विशेषण श्रीश्री राम के लिए प्रयोग किया गया है, जो यह संकेत देता है कि श्रीश्री राम का धैर्य और महानता ही लक्ष्मण को यह असहनीय कष्ट सहने की शक्ति दे रही है।
