ततः पौलस्त्यसचिवाः श्रुत्वा चेन्द्रजितं हतम् ।
आचचक्षुरभिज्ञाय दशग्रीवाय सव्यथाः ॥६-९३-१॥
tataḥ paulastyasacivāḥ śrutvā cendrajitaṃ hatam |
ācacakṣurabhijñāya daśagrīvāya savyathāḥ ॥6-93-1॥
Translation
Thereafter, the ministers of the descendant of Pulastya (Ravana), hearing that Indrajit was killed, ascertained the facts and reported it to the ten-headed Ravana with great distress.

तदनन्तर, पुलस्त्यवंशी रावण के मंत्रियों ने जब इंद्रजीत के मारे जाने का समाचार सुना, तो उन्होंने पूरी जानकारी प्राप्त करके व्यथित हृदय से रावण को सूचित किया।
English Commentary
This verse marks the turning point where the invincibility of Lanka is shattered. The ministers report the death of Indrajit, who was the backbone of Ravana's military might. Their distress ('savyathāḥ') reflects not just personal grief but political despair, as Indrajit was the only warrior capable of countering the divine weapons of Shri Rama and Lakshmana. The reference to Ravana as 'Dashagriva' (Ten-necked) reminds us of his terrifying power which is now being challenged.

यह श्लोक लंका में शोक की लहर का प्रारंभ है। 'पुलस्त्यसचिवाः' शब्द का प्रयोग यह दर्शाता है कि रावण का वंश अत्यंत उच्च था (पुलस्त्य ऋषि का वंशज), किन्तु उसके कर्म अधार्मिक थे। मंत्री 'सव्यथाः' (व्यथित) हैं, क्योंकि इंद्रजीत केवल एक राजकुमार नहीं, बल्कि लंका की सुरक्षा का सबसे बड़ा स्तंभ था। उसका वध मंत्रियों के लिए केवल एक शोक समाचार नहीं, बल्कि आसन्न विनाश की सूचना थी।
