एकेनेन्द्रजिता हीना शून्येव प्रतिभाति मे ।
अद्य नैर्ऋतकन्यानां श्रोष्याम्यन्तःपुरे रवम् ॥६-९३-१२॥
ekenendrajitā hīnā śūnyeva pratibhāti me |
adya nairṛtakanyānāṃ śroṣyāmyantaḥpure ravam ॥6-93-12॥
Translation
...appears empty to me, bereft of the single Indrajit. Today, I shall hear the wailing of the Rakshasa women in the inner chambers."
हिंदी अनुवाद
...एक इंद्रजीत के बिना मुझे सूनी (शून्य) सी प्रतीत हो रही है। आज मैं अंतःपुर में राक्षस कन्याओं (इंद्रजीत की पत्नियों) का रुदन सुनूँगा।
English Commentary
The loss is total: the world feels 'śūnya' (void/empty) without Indrajit. Ravana dreads the domestic reality of death—the lamentations ('ravam') of the widowed women in the harem. This anticipates the emotional burden awaiting him back in the palace, contrasting with the battlefield glory he spoke of earlier.

पुत्र का महत्व इतना अधिक था कि उसके बिना रावण को 'त्रिलोकी' सूनी लग रही है। 'रवं' (शोर/रुदन) सुनने की कल्पना रावण को कँपा देती है। वह जानता है कि इंद्रजीत की पत्नियों का विलाप उसे और अधिक पीड़ित करेगा। यह एक पिता की असहायता है जो अपनी पुत्रवधुओं का सामना करने से डर रहा है।
