समीक्ष्य रावणो बुद्ध्या वैदेह्या रोचयद्वधम् ।
तस्य प्रकृत्या रक्ते च रक्ते क्रोधाग्निना ऽपि च ॥६-९३-२१॥
samīkṣya rāvaṇo buddhyā vaidehyā rocayadvadham |
tasya prakṛtyā rakte ca rakte krodhāgninā 'pi ca ॥6-93-21॥
Translation
Reflecting with his mind, Ravana resolved to kill Vaidehi (Sita). His eyes, naturally red, became even redder with the fire of anger.
हिंदी अनुवाद
रावण ने अपनी बुद्धि से विचार करके वैदेही (सीता) का वध करने का निश्चय किया। उसकी आंखें जो स्वभाव से ही लाल थीं, क्रोधाग्नि से और भी अधिक लाल हो गईं।
English Commentary
This implies a twisted logic ('buddhyā'). Instead of fighting the killer (Lakshmana), Ravana decides to destroy the cause (Sita). This displacement of aggression onto a defenseless woman marks the nadir of his character. The intensifying redness of his eyes mirrors the bloodlust taking over his mind.

अत्यधिक क्रोध अक्सर कायरतापूर्ण निर्णयों की ओर ले जाता है। रावण का गुस्सा श्रीश्री राम पर नहीं, बल्कि निहत्थी सीता पर उतरा। उसने सोचा कि सीता ही इस युद्ध का मूल कारण है। 'प्रकृत्या रक्ते' (स्वाभाविक लाल) आँखों का और लाल होना उसके खुनी इरादों का प्रतीक है।
