देवासुरविमर्देषु मम दत्तं स्वयम्भुवा ।
अद्य तूर्यशतैर्भीमं धनुरुत्थाप्यतां मम ॥६-९३-३३॥
devāsuravimardeṣu mama dattaṃ svayambhuvā |
adya tūryaśatairbhīmaṃ dhanurutthāpyatāṃ mama ॥6-93-33॥
Translation
...given to me by the Self-born during the Deva-Asura wars; let that terrible bow of mine be raised/brought today to the accompaniment of hundreds of trumpets.
हिंदी अनुवाद
...देवासुर संग्श्री राम में मुझे दिया था, आज सैकड़ो तूर्यों (वाद्ययंत्रों) की ध्वनि के साथ मेरे उस भयानक धनुष को उठाया (लाया) जाए।
English Commentary
Ravana orders a ceremonial retrieval of his weapon. The 'tūryaśatair' (hundreds of trumpets) serves to announce his return to the battlefield and drown out the sorrow of Indrajit's death. He tries to replace the sound of wailing with the sound of war drums.
हिंदी टीका
रावण आदेश देता है कि उसका धनुष 'तूर्यशतैः' (सैकड़ों बाजों) के साथ लाया जाए। यह युद्ध का एक अनुष्ठानिक (ceremonial) पहलू है। वह अपने शस्त्रों की पूजा करता है। धनुष का 'उत्थापन' (उठाना) ही एक उत्सव है, जो भय उत्पन्न करने के लिए पर्याप्त है।
