बहवः शत्रवश्चापि संयुगेषु निपातिताः ।
त्रिषु लोकेषु रत्नानि भुङ्क्ते चाहृत्य रावणः ॥६-९३-४३॥
bahavaḥ śatravaścāpi saṃyugeṣu nipātitāḥ |
triṣu lokeṣu ratnāni bhuṅkte cāhṛtya rāvaṇaḥ ॥6-93-43॥
Translation
"Many enemies have been struck down by him in battles. Ravana enjoys the gems (best things) of the three worlds after seizing them."
हिंदी अनुवाद
...इसने युद्धों में बहुत से शत्रुओं को गिराया है। तीनों लोकों से रत्नों (श्रेष्ठ वस्तुओं) को हरकर रावण उनका उपभोग करता है।
English Commentary
The Rakshasas admire Ravana for his ability to plunder the 'gems' of the three worlds. To them, his power to take what he wants ('āhṛtya') is a virtue. They are hyping themselves up, oblivious to the reality.
हिंदी टीका
राक्षस रावण को 'रत्नभोक्ता' (श्रेष्ठ वस्तुओं का भोग करने वाला) के रूप में देखते हैं। उनकी दृष्टि में यह शक्ति और ऐश्वर्य का प्रमाण है। वे उसकी लूट और विजयों को उसकी महानता मानते हैं।
