Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
यथा ऽयं मामभिक्रुद्धः समभिद्रवति स्वयम् ।
वधिष्यति सनाथां मामनाथामिव दुर्मतिः ॥६-९३-४९॥
yathā 'yaṃ māmabhikruddhaḥ samabhidravati svayam |
vadhiṣyati sanāthāṃ māmanāthāmiva durmatiḥ ॥6-93-49॥
Translation
From the way this evil-minded one is rushing towards me in anger himself, it seems he will kill me, who has a protector (Sanatha), as if I were helpless (Anatha).
हिंदी अनुवाद
जिस प्रकार यह दुबुद्धि स्वयं मुझ पर क्रोधित होकर दौड़ा आ रहा है, उससे लगता है कि यह मुझ सनाथ (जिसका स्वामी है) को भी अनाथ की भांति मार डालेगा।
English Commentary
Sita asserts her status as 'Sanāthāṃ' (one with a Lord/Protector), refusing to accept the helplessness Ravana wants to impose on her. She calls him 'durmatiḥ' (wicked-minded). It implies that killing her is not a sign of strength but of moral corruption and cowardice.

सीता का स्वाभिमान देखिए—मृत्यु के मुख में भी वे स्वयं को 'सनाथाम्' (स्वामी वाली/सधवा) कहती हैं। उनका विश्वास है कि श्री राम उनके रक्षक हैं, भले ही वे अभी वहां न हों। रावण को वे 'दुर्मतिः' (दुष्ट बुद्धि वाला) कहती हैं जो एक सनाथ स्त्री को अनाथ समझकर मारने आ रहा है।
