विधमिष्यति मां रौद्रो राक्षसः पापनिश्चयः ।
हनूमतो ऽपि यद्वाक्यं न कृतं क्षुद्रया मया ॥६-९३-५४॥
vidhamiṣyati māṃ raudro rākṣasaḥ pāpaniścayaḥ |
hanūmato 'pi yadvākyaṃ na kṛtaṃ kṣudrayā mayā ॥6-93-54॥
Translation
...this terrible Rakshasa of sinful resolve will destroy me. Alas, the advice of Hanuman was not followed by me, the wretched one."
हिंदी अनुवाद
...यह भयानक और पापी निश्चय वाला राक्षस मुझे मार डालेगा। (हाय) मैंने क्षुद्र (अभागिन) होकर हनुमान की वह बात भी नहीं मानी।
English Commentary
Regret overwhelms her. She recalls Hanuman's offer to carry her back, which she refused on grounds of dharma (not touching another male) and honor (Shri Rama must liberate her). Now facing death, she wonders if that high moral ground was a mistake ('kṣudrayā' - by me of little understanding/wretched). It humanizes her struggle.

सीता को हनुमान के प्रस्ताव की याद आती है (जब हनुमान उन्हें पीठ पर ले जाने को तैयार थे)। वे स्वयं को 'क्षुद्रया' (छोटी बुद्धि वाली/अभागिन) कहकर कोसती हैं। यह पश्चाताप का क्षण है। रावण को वे 'पापनिश्चयः' (पापी इरादे वाला) कहती हैं।
