जित्वेन्द्रं कथमद्य त्वं लक्ष्मणस्य वशं गतः ।
ननु त्वमिषुभिः क्रुद्धो भिन्द्याः कालान्तकावपि ॥६-९३-७॥
jitvendraṃ kathamadya tvaṃ lakṣmaṇasya vaśaṃ gataḥ |
nanu tvamiṣubhiḥ kruddho bhindyāḥ kālāntakāvapi ॥6-93-7॥
Translation
"Having conquered Indra, how have you now fallen under the sway of Lakshmana? Surely, when angry, you could pierce even Kala (Time) and Antaka (Death) with your arrows."
हिंदी अनुवाद
इंद्र को जीतने वाले तुम आज लक्ष्मण के वश में कैसे चले गए? क्रोधित होने पर तुम अपने बाणों से काल और यमराज (अंतक) को भी भेद सकते थे।
English Commentary
Ravana struggles with the cognitive dissonance of Indrajit's defeat. He rationalizes that his son was capable of destroying even Death personified ('Kala' and 'Antaka'). The question 'How?' reveals that Ravana had underestimated the divine power supporting Lakshmana, still viewing the conflict through the lens of material prowess where Indrajit was superior.

रावण को विश्वास नहीं हो रहा है (Denial)। जिसने देवराज इंद्र को बंदी बना लिया था, वह एक मानव (लक्ष्मण) से कैसे हार सकता है? रावण अपने पुत्र की शक्ति की तुलना 'काल' और 'अंतक' से करता है, जो यह दर्शाता है कि उसकी दृष्टि में इंद्रजीत मृत्यु से भी परे था। यह विलाप उसकी हताशा और अविश्वास का मिश्रण है।
