येनाद्य त्वं महाबाहो संयुक्तः कालधर्मणा ।
एष पन्थाः सुयोधानां सर्वामरगणेष्वपि ॥६-९३-९॥
yenādya tvaṃ mahābāho saṃyuktaḥ kāladharmaṇā |
eṣa panthāḥ suyodhānāṃ sarvāmaragaṇeṣvapi ॥6-93-9॥
Translation
"O mighty-armed one! The path of mortality (death) that you have united with today is the same path for all good warriors, even for the hosts of gods."
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे महाबाहु! जिस कालधर्म (मृत्यु) से आज तुम संयुक्त हुए हो, यही मार्ग देवताओं सहित सभी अच्छे योद्धाओं के लिए भी है।
English Commentary
Even in grief, the warrior ethos prevails. Ravana acknowledges that death on the battlefield is the destined path ('panthāḥ') for all great fighters ('suyodhānāṃ'). Calling death 'Kāladharma' (the duty/nature of Time) reflects an acceptance of the inevitable end of all beings, a rare moment of philosophical clarity for the demon king.
हिंदी टीका
शोक के बीच रावण दार्शनिक बात करता है। वह मानता है कि वीरगति ('सुयोधानां पन्थाः') योद्धा का धर्म है। 'कालधर्म' का अर्थ मृत्यु है। यहाँ रावण स्वयं को सांत्वना दे रहा है कि उसके पुत्र ने कायरता नहीं दिखाई, बल्कि वीरों के उचित मार्ग का अनुसरण किया है।
