शरीरसङ्घाटवहाः प्रसस्रुः शोणितापगाः ।
ततस्ते वानराः सर्वे शोणितौघपरिप्लुताः ॥६-९४-१२॥
śarīrasaṅghāṭavahāḥ prasasruḥ śoṇitāpagāḥ |
tataste vānarāḥ sarve śoṇitaughapariplutāḥ ॥6-94-12॥
Translation
Rivers of blood flowed, carrying heaps of bodies. Then, all those Vanaras became drenched in that flood of blood.
हिंदी अनुवाद
लाशों के ढेर को बहाकर ले जाने वाली रक्त की नदियाँ बहने लगीं। तब वे सभी वानर उस रक्त के प्रवाह में लथपथ हो गए।
English Commentary
The imagery creates a scene of total gore. 'Shonita-apaga' refers to rivers of blood. The Vanaras are described as being completely submerged or drenched in this carnage. It emphasizes the brutality of ancient warfare and the sheer scale of death required to create such flows of blood.

युद्धभूमि का दृश्य अत्यंत लोमहर्षक है। वानर, जो भूमि पर लड़ रहे थे, पूरी तरह से रक्त में सने हुए थे—अपने और शत्रुओं के। यह श्लोक उस त्याग और कष्ट को दर्शाता है जो श्री राम के काज के लिए वानर सेना सहन कर रही थी। वे मृत्यु और रक्त के बीच भी अडिग खड़े थे।
