Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
प्रविष्टं तु तदा रामं मेघाः सूर्यमिवाम्बरे ।
नाभिजग्मुर्महाघोरं निर्दहन्तं शराग्निना ॥६-९४-१९॥
praviṣṭaṃ tu tadā rāmaṃ meghāḥ sūryamivāmbare |
nābhijagmurmahāghoraṃ nirdahantaṃ śarāgninā ॥6-94-19॥
Translation
Just as clouds cannot obstruct the sun in the sky, the Rakshasas could not approach or overpower the terrifying Shri Rama, who was consuming them with the fire of his arrows.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जैसे आकाश में बादलों को सूर्य ढँक नहीं सकता, वैसे ही बाण रूपी अग्नि से शत्रुओं को जलाते हुए उस महाभयानक श्री राम को राक्षस रोक नहीं सके (या ढक नहीं सके)।
English Commentary
The metaphor of the sun and clouds is powerful. Shri Rama is the Sun—self-luminous and unstoppable. The Rakshasas are mere clouds; they may gather, but they cannot extinguish his light or halt his progress. His arrows are equated to fire ('sharagni'), purifying the battlefield by consuming the forces of adharma.

यहाँ श्री राम के तेज की तुलना सूर्य से की गई है। जैसे बादल सूर्य को छिपाने का प्रयास करते हैं पर असफल रहते हैं, वैसे ही राक्षसों की भीड़ श्री राम को घेरने में असमर्थ थी। 'शराग्नि' (बाणों की अग्नि) शत्रुओं को भस्म कर रही थी। श्री राम का यह रौद्र रूप शत्रुओं के लिए 'महाघोर' था।
