Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
प्रहरन्तं शरीरेषु न ते पश्यन्ति राघवम् ।
इन्द्रियार्थेषु तिष्ठन्तं भूतात्मानमिव प्रजाः ॥६-९४-२३॥
praharantaṃ śarīreṣu na te paśyanti rāghavam |
indriyārtheṣu tiṣṭhantaṃ bhūtātmānamiva prajāḥ ॥6-94-23॥
Translation
Just as living beings cannot see the soul situated within the objects of the senses, they did not see Raghava striking their bodies.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जैसे प्रजा (जीव) इंद्रियों के विषयों में स्थित जीवात्मा को नहीं देख पाती, वैसे ही वे राक्षस शरीरों पर प्रहार करते हुए राघव को नहीं देख पाते थे।
English Commentary
A deeply philosophical simile acts as a bridge between the physical battle and metaphysics. Just as the soul (Atman) experiences the world through senses yet remains invisible to the eye, Shri Rama dominates the battlefield while remaining unseen. It subtly equates Shri Rama with the indwelling Spirit—the silent operator behind all actions.
हिंदी टीका
यह एक अत्यंत दार्शनिक उपमा है। जिस प्रकार आत्मा शरीर को संचालित करती है और विषयों का भोग करती है परंतु अदृश्य रहती है, उसी प्रकार श्री राम युद्धभूमि के केंद्र में होकर भी अदृश्य थे। वाल्मीकि जी यहाँ युद्ध कौशल के साथ-साथ श्री राम के आध्यात्मिक स्वरूप (परमात्मा) की ओर भी संकेत कर रहे हैं जो सर्वव्यापी होकर भी अगोचर हैं।
