Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
इति ते राक्षसाः सर्वे रामस्य सदृशान् रणे ।
अन्योन्यं कुपिता जघ्नुः सादृश्याद्राघवस्य ते ॥६-९४-२५॥
iti te rākṣasāḥ sarve rāmasya sadṛśān raṇe |
anyonyaṃ kupitā jaghnuḥ sādṛśyādrāghavasya te ॥6-94-25॥
Translation
Due to the resemblance (illusion) of Shri Rama, all those angry Rakshasas killed one another in battle, mistaking each other for Shri Rama.
हिंदी अनुवाद
इस प्रकार श्री राम के सादृश्य (भ्रम) के कारण वे सभी राक्षस युद्ध में एक-दूसरे को श्री राम समझकर क्रोधित हो आपस में ही मारने लगे।
English Commentary
This verse describes the bewildering power of the Gandharva weapon. It induced hallucinations where every Rakshasa saw his comrade as Shri Rama. Fueled by rage ('kupita'), they engaged in fratricide. Philosophically, it suggests that evil, when confronted with the Divine Truth, becomes confused and turns upon itself, leading to self-destruction.

गांधर्व अस्त्र के प्रभाव से राक्षसों की बुद्धि भ्रमित हो गई थी। उन्हें अपना ही साथी श्री राम जैसा दिखने लगा। क्रोध में अंधे होकर उन्होंने अपनों का ही वध कर दिया। यह अधर्म के विनाश का एक रूप है—अधर्म अंततः स्वयं को ही नष्ट कर लेता है। श्री राम को हाथ भी नहीं लगाना पड़ा, शत्रु आपस में लड़ मरे।
