न ते ददृशिरे रामं दहन्तमरिवाहिनीम् ।
मोहिताः परमास्त्रेण गान्धर्वेण महात्मना ॥६-९४-२६॥
na te dadṛśire rāmaṃ dahantamarivāhinīm |
mohitāḥ paramāstreṇa gāndharveṇa mahātmanā ॥6-94-26॥
Translation
Deluded by the supreme 'Gandharva' weapon employed by the great-souled Shri Rama, they could not see Shri Rama, who was scorching the enemy army.

महात्मा श्री राम द्वारा चलाए गए परम 'गांधर्व अस्त्र' से मोहित होने के कारण वे शत्रु-सेना को जलाने वाले श्री राम को नहीं देख सके।
English Commentary
The secret of the slaughter is revealed: the Gandharva Astra. This divine weapon affects the psyche and perception. The Rakshasas were 'mohita' (deluded/mesmerized). While Shri Rama physically dismantled the army, the weapon mentally incapacitated them. It showcases Shri Rama's mastery over celestial weaponry, surpassing mere physical prowess.

यहाँ स्पष्ट किया गया है कि यह केवल शारीरिक वेग नहीं, बल्कि 'गांधर्व अस्त्र' का प्रभाव था। इस अस्त्र की शक्ति सम्मोहन और भ्रम है। 'महात्मना' विशेषण श्री राम के लिए है, जो यह दर्शाता है कि उन्होंने यह अस्त्र क्रूरता वश नहीं, बल्कि धर्म स्थापना और युद्ध को शीघ्र समाप्त करने के उद्देश्य से चलाया था।
