ते तु रामसहस्राणि रणे पश्यन्ति राक्षसाः ।
पुनः पश्यन्ति काकुत्स्थमेकमेव महाहवे ॥६-९४-२७॥
te tu rāmasahasrāṇi raṇe paśyanti rākṣasāḥ |
punaḥ paśyanti kākutsthamekameva mahāhave ॥6-94-27॥
Translation
In that battle, the Rakshasas sometimes saw thousands of Ramas, and then again, they saw only one Kakutstha (Shri Rama) in the great fight.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वे राक्षस युद्ध में कभी हजारों श्री राम देखते थे, और फिर उस महासंग्श्री राम में कभी काकुत्स्थ (श्री राम) को एक ही देखते थे।
English Commentary
The oscillation between seeing one Shri Rama and thousands represents the fluctuation of the Rakshasas' sanity under the influence of the Astra. Seeing 'thousands of Ramas' implies omnipresence—nowhere to run. Seeing 'one Shri Rama' implies singular, concentrated power. This psychological torture broke their morale completely.

यह भ्रम की पराकाष्ठा है। कभी उन्हें लगता कि पूरी सेना श्री राम बन गई है (सर्वत्र श्री राम), और कभी उन्हें केवल एक ही विराट श्री राम दिखाई देते। यह दृश्य ईश्वर के 'एकरूप' और 'बहुरूप' होने का आभास देता है। शत्रु के मन में यह भय बैठ गया कि श्री राम अनंत हैं।
