एकं रामं परिक्षिप्य समरे हन्तुमर्हथ ।
वर्षन्तः शरवर्षेण प्रावृट्काल इवाम्बुदाः ॥६-९४-४॥
ekaṃ rāmaṃ parikṣipya samare hantumarhatha |
varṣantaḥ śaravarṣeṇa prāvṛṭkāla ivāmbudāḥ ॥6-94-4॥
Translation
Surrounding the solitary Shri Rama in battle, you should kill him while showering arrows like clouds pouring rain during the monsoon season.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वर्षा ऋतु में बादलों की भाँति बाणों की वर्षा करते हुए, आप लोग युद्ध में अकेले श्री राम को घेरकर उनका वध करें।
English Commentary
Ravana identifies Shri Rama as the singular threat ('ekam'). His strategy is focused entirely on concentrating fire on the Lord. By ignoring the rest of the Vanara army and targeting Shri Rama alone, Ravana hopes to decapitate the opposition's leadership. The metaphor of monsoon clouds implies an overwhelming, incessant barrage of arrows intended to drown the opponent.

रावण का एकमात्र लक्ष्य अब श्री राम हैं। वह जानता है कि श्री राम ही इस युद्ध के केंद्र हैं। वह अपनी सेना को निर्देश दे रहा है कि वे लक्ष्मण या वानरों की चिंता न करें, बल्कि सामूहिक रूप से केवल श्री राम पर प्रहार करें। 'वर्षा ऋतु के बादलों' की उपमा बाणों की निरंतरता और सघनता को दर्शाती है, जिससे श्री राम को बचने का कोई अवसर न मिले।
