रक्षसां वानराणां च तुमुलः समपद्यत ।
ते गदाभिर्विचित्राभिः प्राशैः खड्गैः परश्वधैः ॥६-९४-९॥
rakṣasāṃ vānarāṇāṃ ca tumulaḥ samapadyata |
te gadābhirvicitrābhiḥ prāśaiḥ khaḍgaiḥ paraśvadhaiḥ ॥6-94-9॥
Translation
A tumultuous battle ensued between the Rakshasas and the Vanaras. They (the demons) attacked with strange maces, lances, swords, and axes.
हिंदी अनुवाद
राक्षसों और वानरों के बीच तुमुल (घोर) युद्ध छिड़ गया। वे राक्षस विचित्र गदाओं, भालों, तलवारों और फरसों से प्रहार करने लगे।
English Commentary
The chaos of war is encapsulated in the word 'tumula' (tumultuous/uproarious). The variety of weapons ('vichitra' or strange/variegated maces) suggests the exotic and terrifying nature of the Rakshasa armory. It paints a picture of a dense, noisy melee where distinct battle lines blur into a confused struggle for survival.

युद्ध की अराजकता का वर्णन यहाँ किया गया है। 'तुमुल' शब्द शोर, कोलाहल और अव्यवस्था को दर्शाता है। राक्षस अपनी मायावी और विचित्र बनावट वाली गदाओं का प्रयोग कर रहे थे, जो वानरों के लिए नई और घातक थीं। यह संघर्ष केवल शारीरिक बल का नहीं, बल्कि शस्त्र- कौशल का भी था।
