राक्षसानां विनाशाय दूषणस्य खरस्य च ।
चकाराप्रतिरूपा सा राघवस्य प्रधर्षणम् ॥६-९५-१०॥
rākṣasānāṃ vināśāya dūṣaṇasya kharasya ca |
cakārāpratirūpā sā rāghavasya pradharṣaṇam ॥6-95-10॥
Translation
That ill-formed woman insulted Shri Rama only to bring about the destruction of the Rakshasas and specifically of Khara and Dushana.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस कुरूप राक्षसी ने राक्षसों के तथा खर और दूषण के विनाश के लिए ही श्री रघुनाथ जी का अपमान करने का दुस्साहस किया था।
English Commentary
The term 'Pradharshanam' (insult/assault) is used here. Shurpanakha's attempt to deceive Shri Rama and her attack on Lakshmana proved suicidal for Lanka. The women believe it was not a coincidence but a direct invitation to destruction. The sacrifice of powerful warriors like Khara and Dushana was the first consequence of that fatal insult.

यहाँ 'प्रधर्षणम्' (अपमान या आक्रमण) शब्द का प्रयोग हुआ है। शूर्पणखा ने श्री राम को छलने और लक्ष्मण जी पर प्रहार करने का जो प्रयास किया था, वह लंका के लिए आत्मघाती सिद्ध हुआ। राक्षसियाँ मानती हैं कि वह कोई संयोग नहीं था, बल्कि साक्षात् विनाश का निमंत्रण था। खर और दूषण जैसे बलवान योद्धाओं की बलि चढ़ना उस अपमान का प्रथम फल था।
