जीवितान्तकरं घोरं रक्षसां रावणस्य च ।
पीड्यमानास्तु बलिना वरदानेन रक्षसा ॥६-९५-३३॥
jīvitāntakaraṃ ghoraṃ rakṣasāṃ rāvaṇasya ca |
pīḍyamānāstu balinā varadānena rakṣasā ॥6-95-33॥
Translation
This fear is the bringer of the end of the lives of Ravana and all the Rakshasas. Being oppressed by that demon (Ravana) who became powerful through boons—

यह भय रावण और सभी राक्षसों के जीवन का अंत करने वाला है। वरदान के बल से शक्तिशाली उस राक्षस (रावण) द्वारा पीड़ित होकर—
English Commentary
Ravana had oppressed not only external enemies but also his own subjects through his misdeeds. The word 'Pidyamana' suggests that even the inhabitants of Lanka were burdened by his ego. Now, the very boons that were his strength had become the cause of his ruin. This verse completes the cycle of unrighteousness where the oppressor eventually falls victim to his own actions.

रावण ने न केवल बाहरी शत्रुओं को, बल्कि अपनी प्रजा को भी अपने कुकर्मों से पीड़ित किया था। 'पीड्यमानाः' शब्द यह बताता है कि लंका के निवासी भी रावण के अहंकार के बोझ तले दबे हुए थे। अब वही वरदान, जो उसकी शक्ति था, उसके विनाश का कारण बन गया। यह श्लोक अधर्म के उस चक्र को पूरा करता है जहाँ अत्याचारी अंततः स्वयं ही अपने कर्मों का शिकार होता है।
