भक्षयिष्यति नः सीता राक्षसघ्नी सरावणान् ।
रावणस्यापनीतेन दुर्विनीतस्य दुर्मतेः ॥६-९५-३९॥
bhakṣayiṣyati naḥ sītā rākṣasaghnī sarāvaṇān |
rāvaṇasyāpanītena durvinītasya durmateḥ ॥6-95-39॥
Translation
Due to the wrong policy (misconduct) of the ill-mannered and evil-minded Ravana, this Sita, the destroyer of Rakshasas, will devour all of us along with Ravana.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस दुष्ट बुद्धि और अभिमानी रावण की गलत नीति (अपनय) के कारण, राक्षसों का संहार करने वाली यह सीता रावण सहित हम सबको खा जाएगी।
English Commentary
The Rakshasa women now perceive the absolute truth. They label Ravana as 'Durvinita' (arrogant) and 'Durmati' (evil-minded). They have realized that insulting Sita was equivalent to offering themselves as fodder for destruction. The word 'Bhakshayishyati' (will devour) denotes a total annihilation where Lanka's identity was to be erased. It is the bitter realization of the fruits of sin.

राक्षसियाँ अब पूर्ण सत्य को देख पा रही हैं। वे रावण को 'दुर्विनीत' (अभिमानी) और 'दुर्मति' (कुबुद्धि) कहती हैं। वे समझ चुकी हैं कि सीता जी का अपमान करना ही उनके विनाश का ग्रास बनना है। 'भक्षयिष्यति' शब्द उस सम्पूर्ण विनाश को सूचित करता है जहाँ लंका का नामोनिशान मिटने वाला था। यह पाप के फल की कड़वी अनुभूति है।
